Hôpital Montfort is pleased to announce the name of the architecture firm that will be designing the first phase of the Orléans Health Hub.
Following a rigorous tender process, HDR Architecture Associates Inc. was selected to produce the design.
HDR has extensive experience in healthcare space planning. When the firm designs a healthcare building, it carefully analyzes three elements: patient care, context and community. The designers ensure that construction design is based on the well-being of people and that the building offers an environment that promotes healing.
“HDR’s vision for the Orléans Health Hub is aligned with that of Hôpital Montfort and its partners for the Orléans Health Hub, that is, placing the patient at the heart of what we do,” said Dr. Bernard Leduc, President and CEO of Hôpital Montfort.
“The selection of the architectural firm is a very important step in the advancement of the Orléans Health Hub, a priority project for the Ontario government,” said Marie-France Lalonde, the MLA for Ottawa-Orléans. “For the people of Orléans, the Health Hub will mean better access to health services, close to home, provided by an integrated, highly effective and client-centred organization.”
Since Montfort received funding from the Ontario government to pursue planning of the project in July 2016, the hospital administration has been working in collaboration with its partners to concretize the Health Hub’s operations, with the support of several consultant experts. HDR will now join the team to design the space that will house the future Health Hub.
HDR will base itself on the consultations already held among members of the community as it continues to develop the architectural concept.
